Hooray Hurrah
Working collectively, six members of Hooray Hurrah aim to produce a large scale wall work that gives visitors an insight into the practical working relationship between artists, and a glimpse into the often private workings of an illustrator.
As a number of artists are working on one project, the outcome is difficult to predict. The drawings will not be pre-planned, and each artist will need to adapt and improvise to work within such a freeform exercise. Although there is no intended traditional narrative structure to the work as a whole, it is likely that due to the illustrative style in which many of the artists practice, and the improvised nature of the project, unintended themes and structures will appear throughout the creation of the work, creating a sequential narrative - as found in many comics formats.
The Hooray Hurrah Collective formed in 2006. The twelve members of the collective came together due to shared interests within the field of art/design/illustration and a desire to work collaboratively with other artists whose work they enjoyed and admired. Although individually each artist’s work often strays into many different disciplines, the collective work can often de defined within an illustrative/graphic context, and shares many aspects with various artists featured in the ‘Cult Fiction’ exhibition. Time TBA. For more info click here.
