PLURAL INK: UK–Colombia Comics Collaboration on Sustainable Publishing
A cross-cultural comics residency by Festival Entreviñetas #12 and Thought Bubble 2025
Supported by the British Council – Circular Culture Fund
A huge thank you to all those who put their name forward for Plural Ink; both Thought Bubble and Festival Entreviñetas are in awe of the talent, expertise and passion shown by each creator in their submissions. You are all amazing, and we can’t wait to see the work you continue to make.
We’re excited to welcome Carys Boughton as our resident at Plural Ink! Illustrator, gardener-in-training, and climate campaigner, Carys explores how comics can connect us with food justice, empathy, and the living world around us.
About Carys: Carys Boughton (she/her/they) is an illustrator, trainee market gardener, and climate campaigner from east London. Her work explores the power of comics to activate empathy and reflect on food justice, gardening, and our relationships with other living beings—whether human, tree, or caterpillar. She holds an MA in Illustration: Authorial Practice from Falmouth University (2021–23), where her research examined comics as a way to question colonial separations of “nature” and “human.” Alongside her creative practice, she works part-time on a campaign to remove fossil fuel industry lobbyists from the UK Parliament.
