Painted comics saw huge popularity in 1980s issues of 2000 AD inspired by Heavy Metal, before spreading to Superhero comics and more experimental titles. An immersive, and labour intensive, form of illustration that brings a new depth to storytelling; Simon Bisley, Jessica Fong, Erin Connally and Boo Cook discuss their experiences in creating painted artwork for comics, moderated by broadcast journalist Alex Fitch.
