Posy Simmonds is best known for the strip cartoons and serials that were published in The Guardian, and the books that derive from them. These include True Love, Literary Life and the graphic novels Gemma Bovery, Tamara Drewe and Cassandra Darke. 

She is the winner of several awards, including Le Grand Prix de la Ville d’Angoulême in 2024.

Paul Gravett is a London-based freelance journalist, curator, lecturer, writer, and broadcaster, who has worked in comics publishing and promotion since 1981. He is the founder of Escape magazine, and for many years wrote a monthly article on comics appearing in the UK magazine Comics International together with a monthly column for ArtReview. He has written for various periodicals including The Guardian, The Comics Journal, Comic Art, Comics International, Time Out, Blueprint, Neo, The Bookseller, The Daily Telegraph, and Dazed & Confused. He also wrote Posy’s 2019 biography ‘Posy Simmonds’.
